I fell into marketing in a serendipitous way…

Right after high school, and shortly into college to study criminal justice, I was doing data entry work in the IT department for a clothing retailer when I decided I needed to ask for a raise. My boss got out her calculator to do simple math and calculated the percentage on the increase incorrectly – and based upon her improper calculation, wouldn’t justify my raise. That day, I KNEW it was time to move on.

I went to the UCI job board and choose the data entry job with the highest per hour rate. It turned out to be for two young gentlemen who were starting a direct marketing company. It wasn’t long before I was doing a lot more than just data entry. I discovered marketing. My passion. Not only did I learn marketing, but I also learned how to run a business. I earned my MBA and started down the career path that was REALLY meant to be.

Since then I’ve worked in both B2C and B2B marketing for companies. I’ve worked in publishing, automotive, entertainment and in the mortgage and real estate industries. I’ve worked on the client and agency sides. I’ve done pro bono work for non-profits.

Why do I like marketing so much?

I’m one of those people that you can’t call left-brained or right-brained. I’m dead center. Test results confirmed it. I love creative. I can write and help create great looking marketing materials. I love crunching numbers too. I’m good at math and I like being able to measure results and use them to create successful campaigns. And when campaigns are successful, the client wins, and I win. Marketing’s the perfect place – where else can you get all that? They say that if you love what you do, you’ll never have to “work” a day in your life.

So I’m here to have a great time, while helping clients and employers meet their objectives with effective marketing strategies. Ready to play? Let’s make something amazing happen!
